French aircraft bombed camps of the Islamists in northern Mali

Military sources said that French warplanes bombed camps for Islamist rebels in the far north of Mali, hours after a visit by French President Francois Hollande, the state located in West Africa.

A spokesman for the French army in Paris Thierry Burkhard said on Sunday that raids during the night targeted rules of supply and logistics and training camps used by insurgents linked to Al Qaeda to the north of the desert town of Kidal.

Burkhard told Reuters "This is an important air strikes."

He added that the air strikes occurred around area near the Algerian border and one of the main gates to the Adrar Afujas Mountains, where rebels are believed to be hiding there after escaping from large towns.
