Japan's Prime Minister meets U.S. President in Washington on February 22

The Japanese government said Friday that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will hold talks with U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington next week.

Said Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihid Suga at a press conference, said Abe, who took over the functions of head of government late last December, will meet with Obama on Feb. 22.

Suga said that the two leaders Seatonolan bilateral and regional issues related to the Asia-Pacific, in the forefront of third nuclear test conducted by North Korea last Tuesday.

The two leaders agreed during a telephone conversation on Thursday, seeking to take UN Security Council resolution harsher on Byongjinanj.
