Send more peacekeepers to Congo

UN official announced on Wednesday, for the determination of the international organization to send peacekeepers new added to already existing forces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to meet the breadth of the conflict which witnessed the eastern part of the country.

Said Herve Ladsous, responsible for peacekeeping operations of the United Nations, it will be added to the existing mission in Congo brigade consists of 2,000 troops or more.

The Congo mission and one of the largest peacekeeping force in the world, with more than 20 thousand military and police officers and civilian staff.

Ladsous said at the United Nations headquarters in New York after discussions with the UN Security Council on ways to confront the rebel forces in the DRC, "We must move against those armed groups."
